Vered Strapp holds a B.A. in English and American Literature from Harvard University and an M.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University. She taught high school English for fourteen years.
Vered learned the business of professional editing while working at HarperCollins Publishers in New York City. She later chose to become an educator to share her lifelong enthusiasm for literature with the next generation. Vered taught middle school English in NYC before joining the English faculty at a private high school in Massachusetts for fourteen fulfilling years. In addition to her role in the classroom, Vered mentored new faculty and collaborated with colleagues on curriculum design and pedagogy.
Vered is proud to continue teaching writing through CentreScript. Working one-on-one with students, Vered provides the kind of individual attention and care that are hallmarks of her teaching approach. She encourages her students to find meaning in literature, cultivate their creativity, and emerge from high school with a passion for learning. CentreScript, named after her hometown of Newton Centre, MA, fosters the deep, meaningful connections with students and families that have always been central to Vered's educational practice.
